Rebecca Crawshaw

Artist living and creating in Wadawurrung country, Geelong, Victoria.

Drawing inspiration from colour and forms found in the suburban garden, Rebecca explores the messy, unpredictable and chaotic nature in which things grow using different layers, colours and texture on the Canvas.

Through meticulously layered brushstrokes and a keen eye for detail, each painting evokes a sense of tranquility. Explore the portfolio and immerse yourself in the vibrant colours, delicate textures, and exquisite compositions that define Rebecca’s distinctive style. Prepare to be captivated by the beauty of nature brought to life on canvas.

About

“Rebecca grew up in Christchurch, New Zealand where she enjoyed a quintessential kiwi childhood, playing outside, camping and swimming at the beach. Her creativity started at a young age, always drawing and making things.

After finishing school she studied at the Design and Arts college of New Zealand and once she graduated Rebecca moved to the United Kingdom where she lived for 5 years. Those 5 years where spent working as a Nanny and traveling to other countries to check out galleries and immerse herself in the local culture.

Rebecca moved to Melbourne in 2018. It wasn’t until 2020’s covid lock downs that Rebecca started painting again, reigniting her passion to create. On daily lockdown walks Rebecca began to find solace in Nature and inspiration in Neighbourhood gardens. These surroundings became the main subject matter in Rebecca’s paintings.”
